going to newyork middle of November, how much spending money needed?

hi me and a few of my friend are heading to newyork pre Christmas shopping November. ya i know don’t want to think of Christmas yet but have to book early to get best prices. we going for 5 nights. OK we want to shop get Xmas presents and retail therapy, also will be eating out as we just going to 3 star hotel phinsaviena (spelt wrong i know sorry) hotel anyone know. what you think of it, well we ant to go clubbind broadway show and just simple things really as only 5 days how much do you think i would need. its just the dollar is great at moment and was goin to change now to get beat rate, i live in ireland and £1 = $1.92, what you think whats the rate there. just asking as some of my friend have to save for it and would like a idea as to how much they need. because if it’s too expensive well go next year and go somewhere else. what you think any advice or information will be great. thanks
so how far would a $1000 dollars get ya.
i am just talking spending money hotel and flights is paid separate. so $1000 wouldnt be enough for just my food and spends, what you think thanks.

Yea that will be heaps. I am going to NYC with my girl in mid December for 2 nights. Accommodation has been paid for, and we are taking USD $600, which will be plenty for that time.

    with the pound kicking the crap out of the dollar……….it’s never been better for you to go. It’s expensive………..but no where NEAR as expensive as I found LONDON. And I don’t mean the exchange rate…………people just overcharged WILDLY for things in London. Fish and chips and a cup of tea nearly broke me, and it wasn’t even a nice place.

    Spend wisely, and bring all that you can afford to. You’ll love it!!! There is NO PLACE on earth like NEW YORK!!!!

    You’ll WISH you had more money to stay longer and do more things! The choices are ENDLESS——-

    unfortunately, most people’s budgets are not!

    one maybe two days if you are paying hotel, 5 star food, and shopping. I would take $5,000.00 - never can have too much money.

    My friend, $1000 USD will be sufficient enough for a five day trip in NYC.

    I think $1000 is enough…but New York is very expensive. So shop wisely…if it seems too expensive..it probably is. There are also stores that will over charge as soon as they notice an out of towner, so keep your eyes peeled.
