I drove somebody off the road a while back?

about 4 months ago i was in the middle of a crazy summer. Basically i was not in the right mind set haha. I was selling stuff and some dude tried to ride off with 1200 so i drove him off the road. I was wondering what the penalty for this is if charges are ever filed? I was 17 at the time if that matters, is it assault with a deadly weapon? Luckily the police were willing to strike a deal with me an were able to persuade the other party into not pressing charges. But its kind of hanging over my head, and i was wondering what the possibilities are. I live in upstate newyork, and now im a freshman in college and keeping a good distance from drugs :) also, what is the statute of limitations?

If there is a deal their is nothing hanging over your head, unless you break the deal!

It is assault with a deadly weapon, and as a felony the Statute of limitations doesn’t run out for 7 years in my state.

Some crimes have different times of limitations for prosecution depending upon the state, and some have none, like murder or murder for hire!

If I were you I would continue what you are doing.

I probably did more than 3,000 child abuse investigations and dealt with many dysfunctional (though they hate that word) families. Most involved alcohol or drugs. You don’t need either to have a good time if you are an addict!

Just because you were 17 at the time, does not mean you can’t be charged as an adult. They have had children in Texas who were well below 18 when prosecuted, and some were put to death!
