New York Building Fire!

Thursday, May 24th, 2007. While working in Chelsea, we noticed a building a few blocks up was on fire. So we ran upstairs and I shot this with my isight. Forgive the un-steadicam.

steel beams cant catch fire unless if the fire reaches its maximum heat degree… and sement just get soft… if u watched the movie: ladder 49 when the firefighter tried to get into the control room he had to bust out the bricks to get in…

Are you kidding me? Of course they collapse! Depending on the era of brick building… And the location of the fire in the building. Once the timbers burn through or steel beams expands due to the intense heat. The building starts to come apart. Master streams and the cement that holds the bricks together once heated brings more problems. In this case the fire is near the top.. So collapse is not a primary concern.
